Spring enrollment jumps ahead of Fall 2009

Preliminary enrollment numbers for the Spring 2010 semester at Capital shows a 9.1% jump over Spring 2009, continuing substantial increases in the number of students  for Capital and the rest of  the Connecticut community college system.

February 5th numbers show 4,445 students enrolled for classes that began January 20th.  That’s up from last Fall’s 4,280 and 371 more students over last Spring’s 4,074 when enrollment topped 4,000 for the first time.

Higher enrollments are common at community colleges during tough economic times and the current cycle is no exception.

Official enrollment numbers are due later this month.
