Community Service: Capital’s Y.E.S. Students Clean Up, Beautify Milner Academy

A group of Capital Community College students completed a service project at The Milner Core Knowledge Academy on Vine Street in Hartford May 14th.

YES students completed their service project at Milner Academy on May 14th

Students of the Your Educational Success (Y.E.S.) program cleaned up grounds and playgrounds, removed graffiti and planted shrubs and flowers at the pre-K through grade eight elementary school in the city’s North End.

Capital Alumnus and Hartford Mayor Pedro Segarra donned a YES tee-shirt to help students clean up and beautify Milner Academy grounds in the city's North End.

Organized by the Capital Community College Foundation’s Leticia Colon of Hartford Hospital,  YES students participated in the service project as part of a  work-based education program funded by Capital Workforce Partners. The program, offering life skills and academics, includes completion of a  three-credit course offered by the College in partnership with Hartford Hospital.
