Lifelong Learning Courses Offered At A Discount to Capital Alumni

Starting this month alumni of Capital Community College may enroll at a reduced cost in any one of 44 career and professional development courses and workshops through the Division of Continuing Education.  The alumni discount of 10 percent is open to alumni from Capital, Greater Hartford Community College or Hartford State Technical College.

The Division of Continuing Education offers lifelong learning and enrichment opportunities at the 950 Main Street campus of the College that are available days, evenings and weekends.

 The alumni discount applies to a range of career or personal interests from  the Small Business Management & Entrepreneurship certificate to MBA Boot Camp to Social Media as a Marketing Tool in both short courses and noncredit workshops. Course fees vary and start at less than $50.  Confirmation of the  year of graduation  of a credit degree or certificate of completion from the College is required.

Eligible courses include the following: Small business Management & Entrepreneurship Certificate, Women’s Entrepreneurship Certificate, Developing your Professional Brand Value, Connecting with your Audience with Impromptu Speaking, Developing your emotional intelligence, Getting it ‘Write’,  Managing Chaos: Setting Priorities & Making Decisions under pressure, Attitude, Don’t Take it for “Grant”-ed, Positive Assertiveness, Stress that Motivates, MBA Boot Camp, Business Grammar & Proofreading, Business Writing People will read, When yes means yes: communicate across borders, Creating your own success, Career Reinvention, Judgment in the Mirror, Promises: Why Can’t I keep them?, LinkedIn- Just the Basics, Social Media in Business Basics, Motivating and Leading your Workgroup, Overcoming Procrastination, Finding Happiness, Writing for the web, Positive Assertiveness, Life Balance for the Sandwich Generation, Spanish for the community, That Was My Idea: Effective Workplace Communication Skills, The Power of Emails, Grammar Short-Cuts, Leading in Times of Change, CPCU 500 – foundations of Risk Management and Insurance, Writing for the Web, Social Media as a Marketing Tool, Intro to Microsoft Excel 2007 bundle, Microsoft Word 2007 Bundle, InDesign: Beginning, InDesign: Intermediate, InDesign: Advanced, Learn to Use a Mac, Mac Operating System: Basics, Photoshop I, Photoshop II.
