Changing Lives Gala

Celebrating 50 years of Creating Access and Changing Lives

Capital Community College, Hartford’s two-year public undergraduate institution, is working to lower the cost roadblock that so many people encounter in their pursuit of a postsecondary education – an education that is vital to sustainable employment and career advancement in a global and competitive economy.

The Changing Lives Gala – Capital’s signature event for educational access and student success – will be held on Thursday October 19, 2017 at the 950 Main Street campus at historic Centinel Hill Hall.  The Gala will feature music, auctions, complimentary beverages and fine food from some of Hartford’s favorite restaurants as we share uplifting student and alumni success stories.

Here’s why you should attend and support the event:

There’s never been a better or more important time to help more students go to college. And in Greater Hartford, CCC is one of the best places to acquire knowledge for transfer to a four-year institution – or to learn skills for today’s job market.

Capital has conferred more than 3,000 degrees and certificates over the last five years. Our graduates have transferred to four-year schools and moved on to careers in nursing, health, insurance, information technology and business.

Seven of 10 students qualify for a financial aid award.  Foundation scholarships make a critical difference to students balancing work, family and study to succeed in the job market. The goal remains: getting to and graduating from college without debt for first generation students.

With your support, CCC will continue to open college doors and enhance its programs through events such as the Changing Lives Gala

Please join us at Centinel Hill Hall auditorium on Thursday, Ocotber 19, 2017 for a great party and good company as we share the stories of what alumni and students can achieve through a community college education.
