Capital Cares student organization (Bible Club) will officially open a food pantry and clothing closet on Monday, December 13th, on the third floor of the campus (room 314). The ribbon cutting will be at 10 a.m.
Capital Cares is a new organization “established by the students for the students” that seeks to benefit students who may be in need of food and clothing, to relieve pressure for students in difficult economic times and “to show our fellow students we care and we will help support them in a time of need.”
Capital Cares is the work of Club President Tammy Roman, Vice President Cristina Caban and Secretary Tonee Corlette. The group’s advisors are Dean of Continuing Education Linda Guzzo and Deacon Miller of the Campus Ministry.
The food pantry and “clothing cubby” will be located on the third floor and will be open to Capital students. Individuals can obtain donated food and other items twice a month.
Initial donations in support of Capital Cares from faculty and staff have been received and contributions are welcome. For more information on Capital Cares contact Tammy Roman at 860-329-5483.
