Rotaract Club Forms For Capital Students: Rotary Club of Hartford Sponsors Campus Organization

Rotaract — a campus-based, community service organization affiliated with Rotary International — is Capital Community College’s newest student organization thanks to the sponsorship of the Rotary Club of Hartford

The launch of a Rotaract chapter at Capital stems from organizing meetings held during the Spring 2013 semester, including an April 29th History class hosted by faculty member Marcus Lawson and support from Dean of Student Services Doris Arrington and Student Activities Director Derrick Curry.

CCC Rotaract Club officers for 2013-2014 include: President Brennden Colbert, Vice President Johnoy Nelson, Secretary Ilda Lirioni, Treasurer Cynthia Recoder, Public Relations Representative Darnell Jarett and Community Outreach Chair Jaresse Mitchell.

In the fall 2012 semester the Rotary Club of Hartford established a scholarship endowment for Hartford residents with a $25,000 gift to the College Foundation. 

Capital students between 18 and 30 are invited to join Rotaract which provides opportunities to volunteer locally…
